What is text message marketing?
Text messaging between individuals has been around for quite some time. How do small businesses use QR Codes?
A QR code can be placed just about anywhere – on business cards, receipts, table tents programs, a poster, flyer, in a magazine, on a t-shirt, on a menu…even a giant electronic screen. What is the URL shortener and what does it do?
Club Lemeno’s URL shortener allows you to include a link to your website or specific landing page without using up to many text characters. A long URL is shortened to 19 or 20 characters. You simply copy and paste your long URL into the box, then insert the shortened URL into your message all with a click of a button. Your customer clicks the link and is taken directly to your website. Simple as that. BTW, at that point they are off the Club Lemeno system and are in your ticket purchasing, PayPal or other account. Club Lemeno will have no knowledge or record of their purchase.
How does a small business run a Text Marketing Campaign?
It is very easy to create and run a text marketing campaign using the Club Lemeno system. Start with a keyword/QR code printed on flyers, posters, website, etc. As an incentive your response should include an immediate special offer. This will engage your customer right then and there. As your list of “opt ins” grows you can begin to send messages based on your customers particular interest. Don’t over do it. Send out deals that are meaningful and will get results. Depending on circumstances the frequency might be once a week, twice a month…you be the judge. You know your customers. How are customers enticed to respond?

A simple text coupon of 160 characters or less can do the trick. Customers just show it when they come in to receive the special offer. What does opt-in mean?
In the context of text message marketing, a user “opts-in” by either scanning your QR code or texting your keyword to your exclusive long code number, and in-so-doing has agreed to be placed on your text message list. Your immediate response message confirms and thanks them with a call-to-action. At this point you can ask them their preference by entering another keyword thus segmenting your list by interest groups. Club Lemeno is an opt-in only system. What does opt-out mean?
A user can “opt-out” when they no longer wish to receive text messages from you. When someone texts STOP their number is automatically removed from your list. With the Club Lemeno system you can compose your own confirmation message and give them the keyword to send should they want to receive special offers from you in the future.
What is the difference between a shared short code and a long code?
Both long and short codes are used in text message marketing. A short code is comprised of 5 or 6 digits; a long code is the same as a 10 digit phone number.
