Dave_Ish-v2-350pxHello, Dave Ish here. I’m the founder and CEO of Club Lemeno. I had a very successful 33 year career leading non-profit organizations promoting local business communities. I understood the needs of the small business person and used the resources of the organization to enhance the general welfare of the business district along with specific promotional programs for individual businesses.

I always enjoyed organizing and promoting events …especially live music. I began promoting and producing musical concerts which led to the opportunity to be a booking agent and tour organizer.

While doing so, I recognized that promoters and operators of nightclubs, concert venues, and performing arts centers were faced with mounting challenges related to reaching their audience.

In the past, we could run an ad in the entertainment section of the newspaper, because everyone used to read the newspaper, and people would show up to our event. We could plunk down a reasonable amount of money for a 30-second spot on the radio. We’d advertise on the stations that our customers were likely listening to, and people would show up to our event.

But times have changed.   Now, your audience has subscribed to satellite radio so they can listen to ad-free and genre specific programming. The newspaper business is dying a slow death of attrition. Even the internet has limitations. People already receive too many email messages. Data proves that emails can sit unopened in the inbox for days. It’s nearly impossible to get a #1 rank on Google, and the lifespan of a tweet is down to 1hour.

What is a small business owner to do? Answer: Go where your audience is…on their mobile phones.
